About Me
Specialist dance and sports physiotherapist with an interest in foot and ankle injuries.
My Story
My open clinic is at UNTIL in Soho (link to book here) and I also work as a senior physiotherapist for Trinity Laban in London. I am the head physio for ‘Matilda’ in the West End, working with the principals of the show. In addition to my clinical work, I teach internationally about both dance physio, and the foot/ankle complex.
Dancing from the age of 3, I became a professional dancer for 15 years, performing all over the world, including a year in Paris at ‘The Moulin Rouge’. I then specialized in Latin Ballroom and Argentine Tango. My years as a dancer sparked my interest in sports injuries and I obtained an Advanced Diploma in sports therapy in 2009. I then worked as a sports therapist in the West End on shows such as ‘Wicked’, ‘The Wizard of Oz’, ‘Singing in the Rain’, ‘Shrek’, ‘Matilda’, and ‘Jersey Boys’. I qualified as a chartered physiotherapist in 2016 after deciding I wanted to progress my career working with dancers as a healthcare professional. I now work with respected Sport & Exercise Medicine Consultant, Dr James Noake on complex patient cases that require SEM input.
My Interests
My Interests and further professional credits:
My first degree is in psychology – I continue to be fascinated by how much psychology and physiotherapy are intertwined. I have worked in private sports injury clinics, in falls prevention services, and am a qualified DMA Clinical Pilates instructor. I have written articles on dance injury prevention for ‘The Stage’ and have been a guest on many different podcasts talking about my work with performers, and feet! 2023 marked my third consecutive year of speaking for ‘Therapy Live’ with Physio Matters. I wrote the section on ‘Posterior Ankle Impingement’ for the new edition of ‘Clinical Sports Medicine’, which will be released in 2026. I also visit dance companies and schools as a consultant physio, seeing their more complex foot and ankle injuries, having worked with Elmhurst and the English National Ballet in this capacity. I work with professional dancers in London, in shows such as ‘Mary Poppins’, ‘Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake’, and ‘Back to the Future’. I manage injuries in dancers around the world via telehealth, including European Ballet companies and world champion Irish Dancers, returning them to competition level.
My passion lies in helping performers reach their full potential by staying ‘show fit’.
